Hydropower plant at Bemposta
Positioning of pre-distributor and start of spiral case and intake works.


The works on the project to boost the power of the new hydropower plant at Bemposta are now going ahead, in April, with the spiral case and pit liner. The pier nose, the draft tube cone, lining of the lined conduit, sleeve admission  and positioning of the pre-distributor.

ENSULMECI’s jobs are now progressing to the intake (intake trashracks, intake stoplogs, grids and intake rollergates).


The ENSULMECI | ANDRITZ HYDRO consortium is undertaking a project that includes supplying all the equipment to increase the capacity of the new hydropower plant. The list of equipment includes the generator set. This comprises a Francis turbine and a generator with nominal power of 191 MW /212 MVA, hydro-mechanical equipment, equipment for lifting and moving loads and people, installation at generation voltage, set transformer with a voltage of 417 KV / 15 KV and capacity of 215 MVA, and power emission and interconnection facilities at 400 KV. In addition the consortium is responsible for the command and control system, the general auxiliary service and safety facilities. The overall project, including another construction contract job, consists of constructing an underground hydropower plant in a pit, about 60 metres deep, a hydraulic circuit in a tunnel and various auxiliary and access pits and tunnels.  It is anticipated that the new plant will start production in the second half of 2011.
